 About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Storeman/Yardman to assist the construction team in the yard in inventory control, unloading and loading deliveries and distribution of bulk material such as timber from our yard to site. Using the inventory app, you will need to ensure deliveries and material going out from the yard is recorded accurately. You will also be required to assist the yard team in coordinating, managing, and ensuring timely availability of required material, power tools, large equipment, and company vehicles onsite to ensure project milestones are achieved.

 

Your job will be to:

  • Unload materials from incoming vehicles and stack them in assigned places

  • Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage

  • Inspect and performing regular maintenance checks on power tools, equipment, and plant machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safe operation.

  • Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs

  • Help maintain a safe and orderly working environment. 

  • Maintain accurate records of all tools and equipment utilisation.

 

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate should have experience in either a construction, manufacturing, or warehousing environment as well as the following:

  • A full class 1 license

  • MUST have valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence

  • Have an F endorsement for forklift or if you have a full license, training can be provided for one.

  • 3+ years’ experience as a forklift driver (preffered 

  • Have technical skills (inventory control on App)

  •  High attention to detail and coordination skills

  • Good communication skills and ability to work as a team

  •  A strong work ethic and a good level of physical fitness

  • Experienced working in construction areas (preferred)

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently

  • Must be physically fit and ability to lift up to 25kg

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
