About the Role:

As Subcontractor Coordinator, you will assist in contract management and procurement administration. You will be responsible for subcontract agreements, coordination, relationship management and providing advice and support to the Construction Teams. Your experience in the Construction Industry will come in handy in this role, attention to detail will be vital, as the quality of your input is relied on to procure the produce the high standard of product we make.

Experience in reading technical drawings would be favourable for the successful candidate as you will create purchasing plans based on the needs identified within the drawings.

You will work closely with the Construction Teams to communicate where materials are in transit and advise when there are delays in the arrival of materials as this will impact our production.

 

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing costs, ensuring the project remains within budget.

  • Plan and procure materials to meet work schedules and budgets.

  • Prepare, issue and obtain approval of purchase orders, prior to supplier engagement.

  • Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.

  • Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.

  • Reviewing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.

  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with subcontractors.

  • Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements

  • Overseeing and managing subcontractor engagement on site on daily basis. 

  • Preparing subcontract reports. 


About You:

  • 1-2 years’ experience working with subcontractor administration within the construction industry.

  • A relevant quantity surveying qualification or an equivalent level of knowledge

  • NZ experience on large scale residential or commercial construction projects.

  • Relationship and Stakeholder management.

  • Ability to provide innovative solutions to problems.

  • Strong numeric, analytical, and statistical skills.

  • Highly developed organisation and time management skills.

  • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.

  • Excellent negotiation skills and commercial acumen.

  • Strong persuasion and influencing skills.

  • Understanding of the application and management of procurement and contract.
